During my senior year in the dental hygiene program, I was honored to be one of the five students who was offered an internship position at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY. It was a very rewarding experience to be able to work with dentists in their residency and experienced dental staff. I learned a lot of things throughout the course of this internship. From comforting elderly patients to managing a patient with muscle atrophy disease, I have become very comfortable at treating different types of patients. I was also given the privilege to practice my clinical skills that I have learned in school with patients at the dental clinic in Flushing Hospital.
