Peer Review Process:

Today we will be looking at each other’s papers.

You will be checking for:

  • Sections of paper?
  • Clarity of main idea? What does the paper intend to do?
  • Research? Is it cited ?
  • Is the problem clearly stated?
  • How does project address the problem?
  • Does the paper put forth a new idea that builds on the research – Is the reasoning explained?
  • Have the next steps been outlined?

Author:
Abstract: This is a paragraph that outlines all the major points of your paper. Generally speaking, this is used by other researchers to quickly see if it pertains to their research. The main ideas can be listed. a), b) and c) I recommend you write the abstract after you have completed your paper.

Keywords: 5-8 words that pertain to your paper. If someone were to do a search in a database they might be able to find your paper with these keywords)

Introduction

Why do we care? What your idea? What is it built on – why it is important and what problem you are solving? A brief outline of what the reader will encounter in the rest of the paper.

Subject review:

Please include a section in which you discuss other related research/projects/products that you have researched and how your concept differs and builds on these prior projects.

By the end of the semester you should organize your folders as follows:

  • Folder 2 – Midterm Projects – Mapping an Object – sustainability, labor practices and the End User – Paper/Presentation/Proposal/Images/Notes
  • Folder 3: Final Technological Paper – Proposal/Final Paper and Link to presentation
  • Folder 4: Reading Responses and Reflections Etc.
