HW for 9/6

Mike Bunn is referring to the writing that we do all day throughout our daily lives. When he says, “You are already an author.”, he also refers to all the essays, and writing we have done in school. We have all written papers before such as homework, letters and emails. A more common example that we all do in the 20th century is texting. Our brain is always composing and writing something. We all have our own different styles of writing and how we relate back to our lives. The difference is, in school you are more literate, and you must follow a standard, meanwhile on a text you can write in whatever way you like, and you have more freedom. Writing is a good skill to have and obtain because it can teach you good ways on using vocabulary and selection of words. For example, at work, since it’s a professional environment so you want to be more literate and have a good connection with your bosses and coworkers.

Techniques I can apply to my writing is thinking about my audience. I have to try and engage the reader and hook them to my writing. You want to have a good delivery of speech and choice of words. This is very important because it enhances your writing. You can try to engage your reader by including questions for them or referencing things that they might go through. In the article, he was asking us questions which I liked. You also have to try and be in detail of what you write so the reader can understand by expanding your sentences and what you add on too. All these techniques can result in a stronger paper/speech.
