Saturation Studies: Phase 1

This color wheel took precise understanding of the primary and secondary color coordinations. Knowing what colors go to which section can help you understand what goes where on the color wheel.  Primary being Red, Yellow, Blue while the secondary are Green, Orange and Violet.

Value-Added Portraits: Phase 1.

For low key images, they have to hit the darker half of the gray-scale and be predominantly dark. For high key it would be the opposite. predominantly shades from the lighter half of the gray-scale spectrum.  Loe key and high key tend to induce different emotions depending on how you use them. Low key might add mystery, drama, or eliteness to a picture while high key might add joyful, serenity.

Sound Visualizations: Phase 4.

I feel I have learned a multitude of things while doing this project. Learned how to differentiate between legato and staccato sounds while a creating lines that presented how the sounds might look like. In doing so I’ve learned how to incorporate more feeling into my pieces and translate different emotions through different lines.  I enjoyed doing this project.

Sound Visualizations: Phase 3

My mashup was inspired by lava lamp waves so I wanted to do a kind of wavy image for the sound waves. for the legato lines, I wanted or more softer intro to there placements and the staccato, a more sharp and dynamic approach so it can reveal the beat it’s supposed to assemble with.

Field Trip to BRIC

Crossing the Street, Brooklyn, 2014

By Yolanda Andrade

This vibrant picture was captured by Mexican artist Yolanda Andrade, she has captured the essence of NYC and the feel of what it’s like to be a New Yorker.

I feel every time I go to Morocco  or any other country for that matter, i’ll never find that same New York grit, rush, or color that the city gives off. I return home and instantly know i’m at my city. This picture also makes me feel different in a way that i’ll never have the chance of seeing it through new eyes.

Sound Visualizations: Phase 1.

In White Iverson by Post Malone, theres a lot of smooth sounds that give me a more tranquil vibe.  The harmonic humming and piano tunes feel like a very legato type of sound and works well with his voice especially since he’s rapping in a long sort of tone while carrying his words through.

The staccato beat of the drums and legato sounds mix well together to complete the hip hop track. It proves that you can mix and match totally opposite sounds and still create a masterpiece.

Urban Artifacts: Phase 4.

This project introduced us to how to be a phenomenal graphics artist. I have learned how to take an idea, find inspiration and create samples to create a finished art piece. I’ve learned how different shapes and lines can produce different outlooks, drastically changing ones emotion to the image itself. I’ve also learned how to change composition and look deeper into inspiration to find something beyond that of what I thought I was looking at. Project 1 definitely prepares you to have a solid ground of how to work as a Graphics Design artist.

Urban Artifacts: Phase 3.

For this phase, we had to finalize our thumbnails and create a finished piece that accurately describes stable and ambiguous figure/ground relationships.

The relation between this phase and the past phase would be the the finished product of the original smaller thumbnail.
