Sound Visualizations Phase 4: Delivery

While doing this project I learned that through sound we can visualize beat, rhythm, and sound and make it into art. From learning this I think It can help us if we wanted to be an illustrator who wanted to draw a poster or help a film maker think  up with a way to make a interesting  ending to a  film or music video.

Sound Visualizations Phase 1 Discover

Alessia Cara – How Far I’ll Go

I like this song, I like how its soft and low key in t e beginning. it sounds like legato by the 1:00 mark the pitch seems to starts to change  slightly(its a little higher) . the strumming of the guitar and the beat reminds me of  lines or zig zags that match the strumming of the guitar and beat. The oh-oh-oh  part at 1:21-1:31 gives me the feeling of bubbles. by the finish 2:30-2:56 the beat gets even faster and has a different feel to it like as if I can hear a flute and something has change. That often happens in songs when they are expressing there feeling that they will do something kind of like moving figures and a beat

Urban Artifacts: Phase 4

While doing this project I have learned about different ways to make or turn things into art. I only know how to draw anime figures and I have always drew using a mechanical pencil, so it feels nice to learn something new. I have learned from this class different art supplies such as; paper and pencils. What to use for finished artwork [Bristol paper] and what used to cover and protect finished artwork [tracing paper]. This project assigned to us has taught me that art is all around us, even a stain or piece of trash on the floor. Looking at it from a different angel and perspective such as;  in black and white.

The relationship between figure and ground is one of the most important relationships in design. In simplest terms the figure is what you notice and the ground is everything else .Shape, like the other design elements, is one of the visual tools used by designers. Everything that is not figure is ground. As attention shifts from figure to figure the ground also shifts so that an object can go from figure to ground and back. Ground is sometimes thought of as background but this is not always true. In a flat composition there is nothing behind the figure, like if there was there would be the illusion of depth. The shapes are side by side. Overall, although this is not artwork I’m used to doing I really enjoyed doing and learning something new.

The tree has lived a long life and has experienced a lot of things.  It was used to extinguish the fire off cigarette buds leaving it weird marks on the tree. Because it is an old tree it has grown moss.  Each tree has its own distinctive feature so the unique marking on the bark.
