Sound Visualizations: Phase 4

Overall for Project #2, it was very interesting and fun for me to perform animation with Photoshop, especially it is my first time using it. Usually, I am not a huge fan or the best at listening to music, but my project went well with mixing staccato and legato music together and ensuring that the animation matches well with the remix. To recap, the music I used is Summertime and Dearly Beloved from my favorite game, Kingdom Hearts.

Feel free to view my previous phases if you want to look at my progress I made.

Field Trip to BRIC

This work was one of the most projects that surprises me, because of the fact that certain objects like the girl in a chair can be real or fake, and the curtains blowing may or may not standing still or moving. This project was made by an artist Leigh Davis and I love this artwork.

Sound Visualizations: Phase 1

For the beginning of this project, I performed certain patterns of lines and shapes while I was listening to my favorite soundtrack, Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts Union X. My sketches were just ways how I draw lines and shape that shapes the sounds of this music. Most of this music is calm and flowing. It also has plenty of repetition and certain beats that provide a lot of emotions of the music.  Overall, this is my favorite music because it makes me feel that my heart has a connection from all of my family and friends I have made in my lifetime.

This took me like about 2 hours to complete this phase, including my sketches. Most of my thumbnails in the image I posted are just ideas of a certain beat that was played in this music. I drew hearts because not only it creates a suspense beat to the music, but it also pictures of how a heart could beat.

By the way, this is an extended soundtrack and the music repeats a lot. So if you just want to listen to a little bit, then up to 3:00 would be a good.

Urban Artifacts Phase 4

During my duration for Project #1, I had understand the difference between Obvious and Ambiguous drawings. I also created 2 published drawings using white and black colors to display the simplicity of both obvious and ambiguous drawings. Before I publish my final drawings, I created thumbnail drawings or sketches to plan our ideas before creating the project. I had done at least 12 sketches and then finalized with 2 drawings to describe obvious and ambiguous artworks. Overall, I enjoyed this project and took about 6 hours from planning with thumbnails to publishing my final artwork.

Urban Artifacts Phase 1

Stable F/G

A sticky gum that has been crushed from a footwear; located on the sidewalk floor. Maybe more than one person stepped on it.

Stable F/G

A piece of rolled foil that someone was using for their lunch. Now that’s littering.

Stable F/G

A piece of white paint; trying to descend very slowly from a dark metallic wall. Don’t know if it really is paint.

Ambiguous F/G

A set of layers that are part of a vent cover. Who knows what’s beneath through there.

Ambiguous F/G

A crater that form the unshaped layers. However, this is suppose to be a wall.

Ambiguous F/G

One side of the wall is the bright side and the other side of the wall is the dark side. Which will you pick.
