In “The girl who was plugged in” three of the most important characters in my eyes would be Paul, Dr. Tesla, and Mr. Cantle. Paul is brought into the story a little after the plot is being built up but he’s still an important part to the story because he’s another character’s (Delphi) love interest and goes to the measures of attempting to help her figure out who she truly is by trying to find the lab where the answers to their questions could be found which ultimately leads to the death of Burke. Dr Tesla is an important character because he allows for P.Burke develop and become this person who’s basically seen as a hero to the world as he also benefits from the facts that he’s loved by so many people. Mr.cantle is what you could say is P.Burke’s father figure because he’s responsible from explaining to Burke the basics such as right from wrong along with influencing many other factors among the way.
The story’s society could be seen as a sort of mirror to our own society because of the simple fact that a lot of what is confused within a society is based upon how much it’s put infront of an audience and how much it’s broadcasted to people. Similarly to P.Burke and Delphi’s situation where they were both seen differently based on whether or not they were around eachother it’s a lot of stuff like that going in society because people are definitely seen differently based on who they hang around or the material things that they have.
