For the app review blog entry, I chose Slack because I’m currently using this app for my contacts from the Extreme Kids and Crew Internship staff. After redownloading it again, I first noticed a Background redesign as a Darker shade of Violet Purple for the Banner and the Website. I’ve used Slack before during the pandemic when all classes were switched to online. The last time I used Slack for direct messaging or creating group chats for the entire staff for announcements was when I was taking COMD 1127: Type and Media, learning and understanding the foundations, terminology, and basic Typography having an emphasis on using type for a variety of industry-based software applications and the usage by Printing and Interactive Media. Professor Alberto Vargas, invite the entire class to our COMD 1127 Group Chat for any announcements, questions, or comments about any of our Projects for the Fall Semester of 2020.
I was fascinated by the User Interface layout, the overall Website Development layout organization, the usage of Sans Serif Typography, the given contrast, and the hierarchy. If there is one thing I must critique for a minor revision, it is the User Experience of launching the workspace via the website version. Suppose there was a way to determine an automatic function that directly takes you to any of your class/job workspaces instead of clicking the link. But overall, I’m impressed with selecting different kinds of display mods for light or dark mode. Some might prefer light mode, but in my opinion, I selected dark mode to avoid any eye restraints. After returning to Slack for my internship to get in touch with any announcements about our staff meetings, events, and programs. This was the best alternative for quick messaging, whether you were running a few minutes late or informing others of any relocations where the events took place.
In conclusion, Slack is recommended as a communication platform for any workspace at work and school due to its professional business-to-business setting and services, fast-paced and well-balanced quality and quantity of User Interface, User Experience, Web Design, and Web Development Performance, organized layouts and easy communication to create channels, join and search, and proper security.
