Big Ideas Welcome Here

Next Steps for this week, April 22-24 -Prof. S.

Meeting re-cap today: roll call; we wrote and listened; some watchwords of the day included: “cherish” “precious” “eulogy” “subjective” “objective” “personal” “facts”; brainstorming on next assignment format; decision to meet again next week; music; goodbyes. Great meeting! So amazing to hear from you all. Wish we had more time. Thank you for witnessing me, and each other, and for helping us re-gain community.

NEXT STEPS:

Look in the MENU above for this site and you will see a new listing there called GOOGLE DRIVE LINK. In the shared yellow SKILL folder you will find one document created for each one of you to work in. I also created a Sample Document to give you some outline of format. To summarize: our next step will be to share some skill/interest/pursuit that we have had during our confinement — something that gives us joy or makes us feel interested in life and in bettering ourselves. We also discussed that part of this next step will be to do some research and learn more about this skill/interest.

At preset there is no length limit or minimum on this assignment. It is a work in progress. It is, however, required as part of your UNIT III grade. Due date: I expect EVERYONE to do this work-in-progress by Saturday of this week (April 25) so that I have time to review what you wrote before Monday morning.

So: start filling in your own document, AND, peek around and look at somebody else’s document by Monday Morning. Type any questions or issues or anything here under COMMENTS and I will attempt to answer you.  : )

We will discuss our work on Monday. Check back for a Zoom meeting link. Our next meeting will be April 27 at 9:00AM.

Just a quick shout out to some folks: to Daniel T. : I never thought about what the exact dimensions of a printer until you noted them; to Masha — props for opening it up with your iPhone — a thing that we use so often we forget that it might have a “story” to tell, itself! Major thanks to the Committee; thank you’s in advance to Masha for telling us about stirred coffee next Zoom, to Antonio for sharing food/wisdom next class, and to Jordy for reading us some historical event next class or maybe just playing the wine, red, and black guitar.
