Post class 02/15/22 questions answered (1101??) et al

This is the procedural stuff we started today (02/15/22) in class. (A bunch of people asked for clarification, so I am posting this and hope it helps.)

btw: Here is that painting, in case you want to look at it.

“Landscape with the Fall of Icarus,” c.1555 (oil on canvas) by Bruegel, Pieter the Elder (c.1525-69); 73.5×112 cm. We saw Icarus already splashing in the water, lower right. We asked the rhetorical question: what can we do to hear the fall of Icarus?

A) please give me some sense of what you did in 1101. This could include a copy of an actual assignment; it could (and maybe should) include an opinion or feeling about what you were asked to do or how you did it. I am not grading you on this. I said to title the document “1101” just so that I can tell what it is and to put it in your Student Folder since we don’t actually meet in real life. Thanks. Questions? please ask.

B) if you have not already, sign the Class Contract.

C) if you have not done so already, please sign the Zoom protocol document.

actually, I originally asked that you copy and paste the Zoom protocol ^^ document into your Student Folder, signed, but if you just signed at the bottom, that will suffice.

D) for the heck of it, take the VARK questionnaire. I am not grading you on this, but I may be asking you what kind of learner you are soon, and this would probably help you clarify.

thanks.

Feb 8th is special because…

A) you completed a quiz — (see screen shot above) — that was utterly absurd, and survived

B) somebody in class (who?) said it was their birthday today — (see screen shot above)

C) the college declares this a “conversion day” — and we don’t have class

D) I forgot about the conversion day, and am patiently waiting in the Zoom room

Happy Birthday to Whomever is Turning 19 Today

And see you on Thursday.

Oh, P.S. I will drop a new assignment and video for you later today.
