Emoji Poem

I laugh as I put on my straw hat. I travel to find my first crewmate.

I’m running out of time I need to grab my doctor and my orange-haired navigator.

“Here’s a hand” I hear from afar it’s my archeologist who loves to read. My musician stands tall like a cactus in the desert.

My crew is getting hungry I need my chef to make some sandwiches.

We dock our ship on an island and we meet an octopus who specializes in making calamari and offers his brothers as a meal.

Emoji poem

My Poem:

Favorite hat, favorite train, and with my favorite person

Hospitals. Hospitals remind me of oranges at midnight

Pins and needles my hands feels pricked.  Pricked like cactus.

Island boy killed squid and offered me bread.

My thoughts: These emojis were too random to make a poem that made sense, but I don’t think all poems have to make sense.

Professors Should Allow Students to Hand in Late Work

I decided I’m going to write about professors accepting late work because I find it unfair how some professors do not accept work even a minute past the due date and time. In my opinion they should realize that we get caught up in our own lives and at times we genuinely cannot submit an assignment on time. Personally, I find myself doing better in classes where the professor is not so strict on handing in assignments on time but making sure we get our work done. I feel like not only can I relate to this topic, but other students can also relate because college is difficult and us having to cram all our assignments together ends up affecting our mental health and losing our motivation.
