Words to Change Our World with Prof. Sarah Schmerler

First Assignment

Nervous. I never imagined to start my freshman year as a college student online. It is something new yet challenging at the same time. I took a summer course in July and truth to be told, focusing in class was the hardest part for me. I had to constantly find motivation to complete school work and sit through a course just staring at the screen watching my professor speak and teach the material hoping I would be able to understand it. I really enjoy being in a classroom setting because it is a different surrounding and something about it makes me feel productive. In reality, I guess that you will never be ready for anything until it hits especially in unprecedented times. The picture below represents how I feel about online learning at the moment. However, I feel very strongly that with the help of Professor S, she will make online learning enjoyable and successful. All the best to everyone!

    Hey Pauline,
I totally understand where you’re coming from, towards the end of high school when went online I also found it hard to stay focus and on task. But hopefully we can get use to it since we’re going to have classes online for a while. Wish you the best !!!!

Agree Pauline! We will all miss classrooms and it’s positive impact on our learning.

This made me smile, Pauline. That, alone, is great. : )))
I think others might agree. We all need to smile. I am glad to hear you talk about focus. Let me know if there’s stuff I can do to help with that. My “old” classrooms used to be lively. We. Shall. See. Feedback will help me immensely, so don’t spare my feelings if you wish something were different once we set up class, okay?
