Research and planning for a new non-profit organization – Create a hypothetical nonprofit organization to address a specific     community problem. Members will act as the organizing board of directors that will research the incidence and prevalence of a problem in a community (segment of the population) that is underserved. The research should provide reliable evidence (data) to show that a new organization is needed to address the problem. The group will write a mission statement, make the organization legal, apply for tax exemption, plan a special event as part of the funding mix, and write grant proposals to develop programs and services
