The Brooklyn Bridge, hw post 11/1,

In his essay, “The Brooklyn Bridge”, Phillip Lopate depicts the Brooklyn Bridge as lovable. Through out Lopate’s essay he gives reasons to why the bridge is lovable and why it has remained lovable through out it’s Lifespan. Along with each reason he states, Lopate pulls a quote and inputs the resource that he used come up with each reason. You can tell that he extensively researched the Brooklyn Bridge by the way he incorporated his research through out the essay and carefully picked examples he choose to put into his essay. He used  vast amount of resources, such as poems, pictures, songs, books, articles and journals, to research the Brooklyn Bridge. In the two photos ,Lopate choose to incorporate in the essay, the Brooklyn Bridge is photographed from the Brooklyn side and each photo illustrates the Bridge’s architectural beauty. The photos give the reader a better understanding of Lopate’s depiction of the Brooklyn Bridge and adds to his analysis that the Bridge deserves to be a Monument.
