I think that both these authors have a long history of Brooklyn of their own, they have different points of view on how they see and perceive things and history of Brooklyn. They may have different sources or the same but different thoughts about it, different opinions about a certain photograph or event in history. One may see the weather while the other may see the building of the same picture, everything is all just biased although it does have historical facts in between the lines of any book these authors have written.

After reading this it showed me that one topic can have multiple views and opinions on it. Also that the quality of sources are important, especially when it comes to making a book and eventually having it published. When it comes to sources, it is always good to use the most accurate and credeable one as well. For example I would get information from a library or a scholarly article rather than using wikipedia. Finally both these authors push their own opinion and views more which is not what readers want.

I agree that quality sources are important when making a book because how can readers believe someone’s work? I also believe that libraries are great places to get sources other than in some webpages but also, we really need to analyze the author’s and the publisher’s reputation and writing style because we dont want to waste our time with false information, and libraries dont always make sure of that.

From this reading, I learned that there might be many vanity presses and we need to watch out for them because they can take away from your work’s credibility. Also, we need to exclude books that heavily relies on the author’s opinion to make a point, beacause that is what’s going on with the two authors and frankly we dont know who to really believe.

i agree, we need to be more careful with our sources. If we do take work form a piece that was published by a vanity press we cant be sure if it is correct therefore our credibility decreases. this causes our work to look less professional.

after reading this i realized that there is a lot of competition in the world of journalism. they talk alot of “trash” about each other. i also learned that many people dont care about the quality of their work they just want to see their work published for the fun of it. from the reading you can tell that everyone has their own opinion. each person had their own opinion about someones work and they criticized it very well.

I think that everyone is entitled to there own opinion and the article Who Knows Brooklyn is a fantastic example of how much people value there opinions. The authors believe that they are the superior author but a person cant judge themselves but rather let the people judge there work. The lesson we learn from this is people see things differently and everyones opinions are going to differ its up to you

i agree that people are entitled to their own opinions but i didnt think of it the way you put it. Great explanation as to why people criticize others but not themselves and how blind someone can be when they are too stubborn to see anything else then what they think.

After reading this short reading , I came to a conclusion that everyone has there own point of viewing things and opinions. People have different opinion looking things and the quality of source and credibility is very important because we tell people the true facts not the false information, so people can believe on the work that is published.

in this reading “who knows Brooklyn” you see two self proclaimed experts of Brooklyn . who seek this credit the other. both who are truly amateur historians and simply dable picture taking and eve righting books. none of which would be considered a credible source of information. the credibility of the source is very important it has to bee an un biased ,thoroughly researched done and presented.
