On Wednesday, we went to the library and learned about different types of maps. We were given actual maps from decades ago and were able to touch them and look about them. We also received a handout and were put into groups of 5 and were told to try and identify the maps by the characteristics listed on the sheet.
My group had a map of Downtown Brooklyn from the 1990’s, it was really interesting to look at because some of the streets had different names from what they were called now. Even our college had a different name, after completing the sheet we were given a task from Professor Davis which was to make a 3-5 minute impromptu speech explaining about the different maps in only 7 minutes, Each group went and we got to see what 3 maps they were given and everyone seemed to know what they were doing.
