Our Wednesday class was a valuable experience to gain. During this session of class we had guests from the Brooklyn historical society visit us to educate us about some of the guidelines and rules that need to be adhere to when visiting the historical society. In addition to this they discussed how the Brooklyn historical society held many invaluable documents from Brooklyn’s past. Following review of the rule and regulation we left on the walking tour and the first place we visited was a statue of a famous abolitionist. They asked us to also analyze and look at the details in the large buildings. Then we made our way to the actual historical society building and it was a reddish, orange color and was beautifully built. One of the most noticeable thing was the title was Long Island Historical society and the explanation for this was that at one point in time Brooklyn was its own city. All in all this visit to the historical society was very educational and also and invaluable experience.
