This story was about the upbringing of the Brooklyn, which was once called “Breucklen”. So many places that are still here till this present day wasĀ mentionedĀ in this story. Flatbush, Fort Greene, Flatlands, Bushwick and many more places. Many different landmarks in Brooklyn were also brought up and when they were made and other things. One aspect that caught my attention was Coney Island. The author states that this was a fantasy island to some and even a “favorite playground for those with less than a dollar to spare”. One author even called it “the poor man’s paradise” which is till true to this day because people could go to Coney island with no money and have a good time at the beach. They have shut it down to make changes to the Amusement park and it is now called Luna Park.
