Fort Greene dreams

This is a short story about Nelson George around the spring of 1985. This shorstory deals with his life as he recalls his past and his profession. He tells us about how he used to live in the projects. He Is a book wrtier that made it out of the projects. In the passage he talks about fort Greene. He found anapartment there and will soon move there. He talks about how easy his life would be if he moved. He also tells us about his past about how ha lot robbed because it was his fault. He left the door open of his apartment and someone came in and stole his VCR and his prize jacket. He had is name written on that jacket. He is moving from queens to fort greene. He claims his most important years in life were from 1985-1992 in terms of immersion in music, film, writing and sex. He shows how he believes that when he lived in 19 willoughby he became a teacher kind of like his mother. He believes he was a mentor. He also talks about how fort Greene was changed my famous people like spike lee because he made a film. It inspired many people like Chris rock, Rosie Perez, rapper daddy-0 of stetsasonic, living colour’s Vernon Reid, actress alva Rogers of daughters of the dust, saxophonist/bandleader Steve Coleman, and def Jamexecutive bill stephany were among the tons that moved to fort Greene after being inspired by spikes film. He also talked about his motto which was achieving sustained excelence is what I preached to others and sought after myself.
