1a) A time that I remember using someone else’s work for my own, was when I needed a photograph of a bus stop to create my own mock-up for a poster. The way that I credited this person’s photography was by tagging their name at the end of my post. So others are aware that I wasn’t the one who took the photograph but rather used it as a boost to present my work in a more professional manner.
2b) Reading the Fairey Copy Right case was very interesting and honestly disappointing to read. The reason I say this is because to see a designer/artist complete through basic ethics and morals out the window is sad. He later pledges guilty but originally lied because he felt shameful for what he did, which he should feel ashamed about. When you Destroy your name which is your brand and reputation like this, no one will want to take you seriously. What made it worst in my eyes is that when he was caught instead of being honest and truthful upfront he lied about what he did. This all could have been avoided if he simply gave credit, or ask permission from the original Designer. His disregarding such a simple principle has caused him and the thoughts around him like his family to go through a needed roller coaster. This a simple reminder to be that it’s better, to be honest, and truthful than to be a liar and a thief, because being honest will take you further than living an untruthful life.
