Reflection about City Tech Literary Arts Festival
Today I attended City Tech Literary Arts Festival. My favorite part of the event was the introduction and how City Tech students were telling their own stories of life. Especially, I remembered the story of the student whose name is Damitreze Poe. He said that many black people feel racism and forced to live with it. Also, he added that when you live in America you feel there are two different worlds, world of black people and white. When he was nine years old, he felt injustice from the NYPD side. The police officer was murdered, and people thought that he did. When he graduates from City Tech college, he is planning to help innocent black people who faces with racism. I like this story the most, because when a student was telling about his childhood and the story of his life, I felt sincerity and he was telling from the bottom of his heart. Other students also were interesting to listen, but less than Damitrese. Some of them were just reading and that time I felt very boring. In fact, I like when person is sincere with the audience, in that case people will understand him and listen carefully. Also, I noticed how professors and other students were supporting the hosts(students) in chat, and I was surprised how everyone is friendly with each other. I am happy that I attended this festival because I gain a lot of new knowledge about the college itself and its students.
