Time Management

Kelsey Miller in her article she writes how important is to manage time specially when your student and need to know how to manage time, time doesn’t care who you are. If you don’t use it, you can’t get it back. Therefore, the best way to manage your time is to be organized and focused on what needs to happen. Time management has nothing to do with time itself, rather, it’s about the things that need to happen. To manage your time properly, focus on what matters most.Time Management is the control and focus of a person’s actions for the purpose of improving efficiency. Time management techniques typically involve setting goals, establishing priorities, budgeting the amount of time allotted to a given activity, and planning and scheduling the steps needed to achieve goals. Generally, time management refers to the development of processes and tools that increase efficiency and productivity. When we think of time management, we tend to think of personal.

In conclusion my research was about racism around the world, this is big problem for many people around the country, it effects so many families in negative way so many of them having problem because of ignorant people in our society. I have read so many articles and about racism and still can’t figure it out why is it so much hate and discrimination in the world. In to my research I had some difficulties with writing annotating articles, stories because of so many ideas with this topic, for many people like I mentioned earlier it is hard to embrace and show also with some of them it’s no problem and won’t even care about it until they get in to same problem.Racism is defined as prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior. It is no secret that America has a racist past, with issues like hate crimes, police brutality, and slavery. However, the concern of racism is still apparent in American society and the good people who are here trying to change reality don’t have that much power just because they are minorities and can’t out win the ones with negative views. The research was fantastic to look into many articles with many different authors essays to had something to learned.

Allen, John R. “Systemic Racism and America Today.” Brookings, Brookings, 11 June 2020, www.brookings.edu/blog/how-we-rise/2020/06/11/systemic-racism-and-america-today/.

The United States, is federal republic and representative democracy, which claims being civil and equal to citizens, despite race, sex, gender, and orientation. Such structure provides the constitution, responsible for human rights protection. African-American people were denied educational opportunities and prohibited from any religious parties. The freedom of speech and expressing personal opinions are part of our fundamental rights; White supremacy was taking intense effort to violate them.

john R.Allen Thursday, June 11, 2020 talks about how Unaddressed systemic racism is, in my mind, the most important issue in the United States today. And it has been so since before the founding of our nation.

They had ideas from the facts were happening from historical effects and also close history that affected so many around the world an still so many people are afraid that is main idea that author is talking about and writing to let people know. “Truly, the very nature of our “national soul” is at stake, and we all have a deep responsibility to be a part of the solution.”

In conclusion, humanity should evaluate not only physically, but mentally as well. Time does not pass by for waste, we should educate and support each other in the ways of achieving the dream Dr. King had. The unity is full of justice, fairness and pursuit of happiness for all. There have been created many anti-racist organizations, such as : “black lives matter.”, “Campaign zero”, “Community movement builders”.. Etc. It is more critical than ever that we all stand in unity with one another during this global crisis.

My opinion towards the topic is that we can not have negative views towards people with skin color and their cultures, specially we evolved to next era that won’t accept wrong views to others every one is individual by it’s own self no one has right to judge any one because they don’t look same.

Definitely agree with authors ideas they are mostly on the side of change Allen, John R wants to open peoples understandings to look right way of thinking what’s right and what’s wrong, as he says “I firmly believe that we as Americans cannot remain silent about injustice. Inaction is simply unacceptable, and we have to stand up and speak out. “

The genre with this source is almost documentary real life sources that really happened not to long ago.’I firmly believe that we as Americans cannot remain silent about injustice.” the best quote that comes out good idea that gives people to fight for their right and believes.

Dowd, Dr. Mary. “The Effects of Racism in Schools.” The Classroom | Empowering Students in Their College Journey, 10 Jan. 2019, www.theclassroom.com/effects-racism-schools-8703390.html.

Racism creates many other enduring issues affecting a person’s mental health. For instance, so many children are bullied at school, just because some parents could not raise their child properly and teach the right lesson.Prejudice and hatred are learned behaviors. They are acquired habits that can be modified. Children pick up on prejudices from the people of their lives, as well as the newspapers, books, and their peers. At a young age, the process of countering negativity with positives starts. Children’s bias is not intensified when mentioning discrepancies. Dr. Mary Dowd,The Effects of Racism in Schools 10 Jan. 2019

everyone is affected, but particularly students from historically oppressed racial groups, according to a statement on racism issued by the National Association of School Psychologists in 2012.Students subjected to racism from peers or teachers may respond with anger. In authors conclusion she meant to say that problems that they have makes them less competitive when applying to highly selective colleges.

In my opinion the author is differently right about the topic she is talking about she wants to show others how does schools effect kids with their personal views to others that mostly effected negative to others and for their future. Students who fall behind are less likely to finish high school, attend college or earn middle-class wages. Closing achievement gaps is considered the most pressing civil rights issue of the 21st century.

I believe the topic the author write about we need to payattantion the problem because this is not just anyone it’s about all of us,effects us in any kind of way just because of this we go to work and solve this problem especially when it’s about the kids and their needs.”Students who are always in trouble may get discouraged and drop out of school, according to the University of California, Los Angeles Law Review.”she explains why do we need to be aware to this problem and try to solve what ever it takes.

                               Racism

The belief, which embraces superiority over other races by expressing violent and abusive behavior, quietly aberrates our society. Over time, racism has transformed from a blatant and overt form into a passive style of prejudice and discrimination It all has started long time ago, when skin color was taking over people’s faith. Enslaved people were viewed as objects to be purchased, sold, and abused rather than as people. Despite the fact that society of African origin — both free and enslaved — have been present in North America since the 1500s, the sale of the “20 and odd” Africans set the tone for what would become slavery in the United States. Brutality, degradation, and inhumanity were part of their lives as a slaver. They were spending almost the entire day, by working at cotton plantations at dreadful heat;enslaved people’s diets were either insufficient or scarcely adequate to satisfy the demands of their heavy workload. They lived in filthy conditions that exposed them to poor weather and disease. Their clothes and bedding were all very simple. Slaves who served as domestics did better in some situations, obtaining their masters’ discarded clothes or getting easy access to food stores. They were punished by whipping, executing, and murdering. Additionally, they  were often refused educational facilities, such as learning to read or write.

The first amendment can be considered as the first step of creating an equal union, as the way of gaining justice for all. Every citizen is obligated to vote and express their opinion for a better future, they can own property, choose their own religion and utilize other fundamental one. However, how far can all of these be achievable? How can white supremacy “allow” and admit the nonexistence of the racial authority even nowadays. Recent events, starkly demonstrated the unfortunate reality we all are facing, after terrible murder of George Floyd. He was victimized by the system we live in; As Dr. King believed, every citizen living in the same land must be supporting each other, because the name of the country tells us to “unite”. Such blind acts are taking place every single day in America, and we all are responsible to speak up for gaining justice. People supporting white supremacy, have been told to think so since their birth, the families which are responsible of child’s development, are teaching them hate language, which will grow over time.

In conclusion, humanity should evolute not only physically, but mentally as well. Time does not pass by for waste, we should educate and support each other in the ways of achieving the dream Dr. King had. The unity is full of justice, fairness and pursuit of happiness for all. There have been created many anti-racist organizaitons, such as : “black lives matter.”, “Campaign zero”, “Community movement builders”.. Etc. It is more critical than ever that we all stand in unity with one another during this global crisis. Human rights are a pledge taken by all nations around the world, including those in need. Children of all ethnic backgrounds, especially those who have been uprooted due to crime, conflict, or famine, need our assistance wherever they are. Every child has the right to be viewed with compassion and empathy, as well as to grow up in a stable and secure atmosphere.

I actually needed some time for decide what was going to be my topic and I did indeed, the racism topic that is problem around the world most people suffer because of they don’t look same, racism is really sensitive topic to write about but mostly with people with different background and point of views. who actually start a racism? where it came from? why do so few people actually admit to being racist? why did any one needed to use with negative meaning? all of this question want to be answered to see what caused people to be racist cruel to others what can make person be angry at another person just that guy isn’t same as he is. Because of racism it’s always war around the world conflict. Imagine being terrorized around the streets because your just different form other how difficult could it be, so many kids family’s are just like that as they scared of people who sees them as different, probably millions around the world every one just trying to survive with difficult times every day, people were racist all the time probably they had different name to call but actually nothing changed words probably yes but action didn’t some still say and act violent caused by racism, as I motioned earlier all of this questions need to be answered and would love to Research more about the topic that is so intriguing and sensitive to talk about.

The Traditional Research Paper is Best

Alexandria lockett argues that the modern research paper is not the equivalent of what it used to be – because of the huge increase of information available on the internet People used to have to leave their home to research and now going to the library is rare for a lot of students an old research paper used to be researched through raw data from a book or from word of mouth – can’t just google it now that the internet is used so widely research papers are easily accessible and it’s hard to find a topic that hasn’t been researched and written already

Her second point is that because of the way students are taught to research most of their papers turn out as borderline plagiarism very little of the information in the paper isn’t read from someone else’s article on average a college students paper is expected between 5 to 10 sources where advanced students are
probably asked to cite no more than 30 sources.

Third while we make our own research and do as we please that mostly effect us on the good way with more experience to us gain that was Alexandria lockett was arguing by saying ” traditional research papers undoubtedly address the
problem of how to evaluate and integrate sources, a contemporary
first-year college writing student will probably be sensitive to her
limitations as a single writer”.

Wikipedia Research

Historical researches is when historians research facts from the past and do analyses and lab rapports to figure out history years and years past.

Scientific researches mostly who travel around the world and examine facts we are not familiar with however, “regardless of its origin, all research begins with a basic question or proposition about a specific phenomenon.”

Research is one of most important fact about humans civilization to evolve to next stage as was happening centuries, and it’s a fact about looking answers that not knowing on certain topic.

Intellectual Home

Giorgi Goletiani

English 1101

In life we all are individuals as humans, with feelings, thoughts, most of our lives are dependent on our will as by helping our thinking of life, we create our own understanding of safe place, as we call “intellectual home” which is the place where we all getting educated, intellectual home is our learning corner which let’s us focus and have quiet environment. My intellectual home is my bedroom that’s where I can really focus on my homework from the collage, it’s quiet I can lock myself in there until I’m done with work I do, although most of the time i’m alone at home, but still when my family members are back from the work they bring noise in the house, that’s why I prefer my room, my Intellectual home, my safe environment.

Salvatore Scibona “Where I Learned to Read”, Salvatore life before he found his Intellectual home his life was miserable couldn’t focus on his educational needs, he was falling all of his subjects in school hated his house, in his house television was on day and night and had crowded house. Personally I can’t relate to his life the way he lived just because my Intellectual home is right front of me and Salvatore found his Intellectual home far from his actual house more than five hundred miles away in the St.john’s college, we can’t really relate on having safe place as we called it Intellectual home but we can most definitely relate on finding the place where we both can do our best as him, he learned reading, he was doing good in his classes and found friends, other hand my Intellectual home helped me doing my work as a student and helped me educate my self in safe environment for future to come as i am trying to evolve to be better at my work and responsibilities I am having and more to come as it helped Salvador to succeed in his goals and dreams with his success in life.

End of the story when he mentioned “I was a sad little boy and a standard-issue, shiftless, egotistical, dejected teen-ager.” As Salvatore I sometimes need Personal space to think and act afterward. That’s where our Intellectual homes are crossed in the way of changing to be better.

As we all grow doesn’t mean we aren’t going to need our own space, I think in future we would need more than we need right now at this point, it an optional many students from city tech probably will disagree but as we speak our Intellectual homes are the places we feel it’s safe to open our feelings towards ourselves to have discussions with our self Personalities in the way others can’t understand it, this place could move we can change since we evolve and our understandings are changing we also develop different point of views toward everything and anything, Intellectual homes aren’t really the material place or an object, in my belief we create our Intellectual homes to feel safe to learn to have some quite space nobody around to find one point we can hold on to it, having intellectual home is basically the base of and we can float on the surface.

The futures can be crucial and not fare, it doesn’t Matter if my Intellectual home will be far away as Salvador but i will make sure to have some nice cozy warm place where I can find myself, if I ever need to have hard time on just with school but also with everyday things as we are having a war just to survive a day in life out of our Intellectual home. In my imagination i can think of the future I can set up the theme I dream of i want to have book shelfs full with the books around the walls to be covered with it, nice looking decorations for personal moral to have more strength and to think and do to educate myself, as they do in city tech college, personally never been to inside the collage compose but I can imagine my Intellectual home to be in the place were we getting education thoughts.

Other hand Intellectual home is not just the place we feel safe or having hard times figuring out our self, it can be the place we collaborate helping others preps doing our work or giving out help to others who ever needs, we can change of others by showing them the right way or try to help them with good will,Intellectual home in the end it’s not the materials that we use more likely Intellectual home is where we find ourselves and having the moment of that point.

Meaningful Learning experience

It’s not easy to talk about your own story behind the keyboard, more likely  I would love to tell and show a reader the experience I had  in this case or even we all had many meaningful learning experiences in our lives, although we are not fully grown or mature enough stop at this point we will have plenty to come. Actually here are some of my learning experiences I had in my life time, we all start with law with education to grow in the end to be someone in life. In the world we all are individual in our own ways, personally I am kind of person that loved having fun in school and didn’t really pay attention classes although wasn’t doing bad in my classes it more like I was good at it only bad thing I had was being lazy with my work, I could see my classmates taking long to learn but in the end they would succeed, I in other hand thought I knew more with work but was failing in the end, that changed when I realized this wasn’t working well, learning experience changed my personal view of point, I try to see myself with someone’s else view that was the biggest achievement I had ever succeed, my life has changed I was  doing really good in school, I would use metaphor that really explains the word I am trying to use “measure plenty cut once”.

Intellectual home personally for me it’s the place where I would succeed in my life as currently the collage I exercise with my education and forward to be successful person in future, collage explains meaningful learning in my opinion by looking at points we need to challenged with, past years after the high school I graduate from wasn’t thinking to go collage, I was more looking to work and support my family as we all are trying to bring bread in home but then friend of my is professor on the University we had long conversation on what really college life will provide us although it’s not what college will bring it’s what we will invest in our own life to be successful in lives and we move forward to years to come, the professor showed me an example that he said witch is more profitable for you he said to have an egg to or have a chicken tomorrow, after he mentioned the metaphor of an egg and chicken I was doomed I asked myself is it what really I want to do or I can challenge myself and be someone in life. best meaningful experience I had in my lifetime, Changed my life entirely.

Scibona’s Intellectual Home

“Where I Learned How to Read” by Salvatore Scibona published in The New York, June 13 and 20, 2011, he talks about how hard school was for him, he failed in all of his classes and sometimes he also burned report  card papers in his work at KFC, way Salvatore is trying to show us how did he loved his job by metaphorically using imagery “way dog loves a carcass in ditch” he hated one thing he wanted was to get out of Ohio and start carrier elsewhere.

Salvatore hated reading althought he was just swinging his eyes on the pages as he explained only he was doing it because the girl he loved was loved with the movie.

Salvador was in senior year when one of the girls from homeroom passed him a brochure that college sent her.

That was the moment when everything changed in his life. He expressed his feelings towards St.John college, there were no books, no homeworks everything he ever wanted was in that college but his parents couldn’t ever afford it.

He found his Intellectual Home fifteen hundred miles away he was willing to do anything to get in,“I would scrap everything and go to that place and ask them to let me in”.

Science he only goal was to get into college he started learning different subjects even though he never knew he existed,he worked as a construction worker but his body needed to be read.

Everything changed his entire life,he met new people,he also had friends  which he had so much fun,he found his tribe as Salvatore describes to us  friends as really happy and joeble.

In conclusion of  Salvatores Scibona life since beginning totally changed from his point of view,he hated his previous life in Ohaio,as he mentions “I was a sad little boy and a standard-issue, shiftless, egotistical, dejected teen-ager”,but in the collage he found his life his Intellectual Home so far but he did,he found place his belongs.
