Transgender Day of Invisibility

Well welcome to club 1

2022 represents another year which CityTech stays effectively silent on Transgender issues. And they wonder why enrollment is down across CUNY. What did you expect. When you don’t make people feel like there are spaces for them, they just won’t come. Absolutely everything point of upset for BLM and the Bombing in Ukraine. But absolutely zero outrage at the Black Transwoman murdered and shoved into a trash can a few days ago.

I wish all my Transgender siblings and non-binary folx a safe and blessed Transgender Day of Visibility. Thursday March 31 2022.

Happy Transgender Flag Day (8/19/2020)

Transgender Flag Day on August 19

Happy Transgender Flag Day to all those who fall under the transgender umbrella including Non-Binary and Non-Conforming. Today we celebrate the symbol that spearheaded a public revolution and awakened a social consciousness. Yes today is a thing. Because in 1999 on this day the Transgender flag was created and in 2014 not more than 15 years afterward it was inaugurated into the Smithsonian national museum. Today is the day we all show our colors to demonstrate our pride in being gender indifferent.

Abigail Thomas , Senator of Accessibilities, Welcome to New Students
So I would like to thank all of you for your support. I will not only be your senator, but also the vocal advocate for starting a new CCSD club at CityTech as well as the President of Citytech’s own Prism Alliance. For new students coming in I would definitely like to welcome you.

Even though we may not have a chance to meet or congregate on campus in Fall of 2020, I love and support all of you and look forward to seeing you among the great alumni of this school.

Everyone coming in who is Disabled, Invisibly Disabled, Differentlyabled, or has identied disabilities should make sure to contact the Center for Student Accessibility in Room L-237. You can contact them by phone (718) 260-5143 or at jcurrie@citytech.cuny.edu. You can also contact me ..here through this page of via OpenLab once you get your student account set-up with the Welcome center.

I would like to stress the importance of getting your new accounts set-up ASAP. Because much of you’re involved life will come through there. From last minute class notices, to special events, to emergency grants, to class cancellations. If you aren’t signed up within the first few weeks before classes you may find yourself falling behind rather quickly.
Again I would so like to welcome you all to CityTech and wish you all long, rewarding, and successful careers.

Under the Queerantine

RAINBOW SURGICAL MASK
UNDER THE QUEERANTINE

Life has entered an interesting phase now for most of us as we self-quarantine within our individual homes and abodes. But, we are not completely disconnected. In an effort to keep those within the community supported. Even more so than we could possibly in a physical space. The Prism Alliance plans to ramp up our commitment to helping students within the community find connection and support. Join and stay engaged, discuss and find support. All privacy is respected. Look for anouncements as online pop-up meetings are introduced. Honker down here and let’s survive this Queerentine together.

The Prism ALliance at CityTech

The Alliance is back for 2020.

Room 432
Library Room 432

Just a reminder the CityTech Prism Alliance for LGBTQIA+ students and their allies is open to to anyone who wants a safe space to convene, converse, and hang out. We are going to be here every Thursday and during regular club hours. No expectations, no pressure. Come by and hang. Talk about anything on your mind. Also we’ll be involved I.
