I honestly don’t ike to listen to music before or during a test. It just prevents me from thinking or staying focused. However, I love listening to music when I am doing the dishes, cleaning, stuff like that. The song Memories by Maroon 5 really calms me down. Here’s the link to it. https://youtu.be/SlPhMPnQ58k

Floyd Williams is an Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is from Kansas City, Missouri. Floyd wanted to understand Einstein’s theory of relativity and therefore became interested in math and chose to become a mathematics professor. Floyd has about a 100 published works, books included. He has been invited to lectures in about 24 states and 23 countries around the world. Floyd helped about 10 students to obtain their PHD. He was also inducted into the Lincoln University (Jefferson City, MO) Hall of Fame in 2011. What makes Floyd interesting to me is his passion for physics. I enjoyed learning in both physics 1 and 2 and found some of Einstein and Newton theories amazing. Floyd Williams is not involved in the black math community .
I have thought and said out loud that I am bad at math several times. The first time it occurred was back in high school. There were few topics I found difficult and did not like at all and every time I would try solving a problem related to those topics, I would get stuck and I will ask myself why am I so bad at math?. My best friend tells me all the time that she is bad at math. Whenever my friends tell me that I just respond back by saying: no, don’t say that, you’re not. You just need more practice. I feel like the fact that we struggle when trying to solve problems sometimes make us feel as though we’re bad at math. I learned to deal with it and I don’t say or feel that way anymore. I kept practicing, asked questions around me, I would tell myself that it’s not impossible and if others can do it, I can too. So, I would advice the same thing to anyone who says or thinks they’re bad at math or any other subject in general.
