Test #2 Review

Getting feedback from my group was very helpful this week. Writing your work clearly and the equation will help others understand your steps clearly. I took some of their feedback and incorporate it into my work by writing the equation and the series that I used to solve the problem. It’s also very important to prepare the hot topic in advance so we can be prepared to present it.

Group 3 Test #2 review practice – minutes

Attendance: Pablo, Ines, Imane (group 4) and Katie

Presentations: Ines and Katie both presented Standard 9, while Pablo and Imane presented Standard 10.

I. Imane’s presentation was clear and thorough. Katie hadn’t started on area yet, but was able to understand exactly what was going on!

II. Pablo presented his version of Standard 10 in real time! He explained everything so well as he drew it out. We were all impressed.

III. Ines is also a great presenter and answered a few of our questions patiently and in a way we could understand.

IV. Katie presented hers and realized that she left out a few simple steps. But overall showed several different tests of convergence and explained them well.

V. After presenting we read through several of the prompts. They all gave great advice. But we landed on:

I just take 3 days to prepare before the presentation in which I solve the problem and write my solution. Then practicing how I was going to present the topic and try to predict what the possible question I could be asked. I think I can improve by doing practice sessions with my groupmates before my usual HOT topic session.

We agreed that it hit all the things that we thought were important or helped us as well. Practice is the most obvious, but giving yourself time to practice is also key, so we like the three days. Also trying to predict the questions is a smart way of testing yourself and becoming more prepared.
