I live in Kensington, Brooklyn. Kensington is a neighborhood in the central portion of the New York City borough of Brooklyn, located south of Prospect Park and the Green-Wood Cemetery. Kensington is a predominantly residential area that consists of housing types that run the gamut from brick rowhouses to detached one-family Victorians to apartment buildings. I love this neighborhood because of its diversity. I can buy Halal food, talk to people in my own language. I believe this one of the most aspiring neighborhoods that Brooklyn can claim. Bangladeshi are the majority of the population, the Jewish community is second in highest and the rest are white and Chinese people.

Simply when I walk I see faces of people. Being a professional creative writer it is my practice to find stories in people’s faces and expressions. It helps me to set the plot for my writing if I find out the perfect character of my story. I tried to discover my neighborhood every day, I walk, I drive, I stop, I observe, I wonder. It is so good living in a neighborhood where so many people living from different cultures with peace and friendship. In this assignment, I tried to express the faces I see.
