I actually recently moved to Mill Basin two days ago and the first thing I noticed was surrounding water and docks everywhere, situated in the Jamaican bay. After driving around more I noticed the sculptural designs of the houses and found out they were custom made by numerous well known architects and artists. For the project, my main focus is to capture the interesting design languages of the waterfront houses, the ornamentation of them, and famous artists that lived in them . As well as show the docks with the boats that also show how abundant shellfish is in the area, since its surrounded by water, which is what the neighborhood is well known for.
