Introduction

Hello everyone, I’m Jessica, but I prefer Jessi. My pronouns are She/Her. When I was 18, I moved to New York City from North Carolina. Although it was scary to be here alone I do not regret making this decision at this young age. I have learned so much and experienced many cultures in NYC that are rare in other cities in the U.S. which have sparked my love for discovering and traveling to new countries. I live in Queens and love living here at the moment. I originally wanted to be a dental hygienist. I have been in the dental field for about 8 years as a dental assistant, but the pandemic made me realize that being in the health field was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I switched my major for a bachelor’s in Emerging Media Technology in Computation Concentration. Taking classes in my major gives me an opportunity to learn something new every day. It feels like I’ve been in school forever, but I’m hoping to graduate next year. Some of my hobbies include reading, working out, swimming, and playing with my two dogs. I absolutely enjoy traveling the world. In my travels, I’ve been to 10 countries, and Turks and Caicos Island is one of my favorites. Travel and underwater diving are my passions. I’m a certified scuba diver and hope to keep doing both.

This picture shows my two beautiful Boston Terriers. The male’s name is Zero and the female’s name is Una. Zero is 7 years old and still acts like a puppy. He is super special to me. I got him during the time my grandmother passed and he has been comforting me ever since. Una is a year old and full of energy. I decided to get Una to give Zero some company because it would break my heart every time I had to leave him home alone. Having both of them has been two of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Thanks for reading my introduction, and I hope everyone has a great semester.

    Hello Jessi,

I hope you’ve enjoyed your summer.

I also went through two majors and jobs (dental and home care/health care). It’s a great feeling to do what you actually like in your daily life. Greetings to Zero and Una.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Hello Jessi,

The way you talk about Zero and Una is heartwarming. It’s so cute how Zero’s been your comfort during tough times, and now Una is adding a dose of energy to the mix. Wishing you an amazing semester ahead!
