Students will also learn about closing entries and how to prepare a post-closing trial balance. The course also includes the study of special journals, subsidiary ledgers, and basic accounting principles.
MKT 1103: Foundations of Marketing & Sales
This course introduces students to today’s fast-moving and constantly changing global marketing and sales world. Students learn about modern marketing and sales strategies used to advertise, sell, and distribute products through physical stores, websites, and other online platforms.
Marketing and selling are key to the success of any business, especially with the growth of online shopping. Companies, especially those in e-business, spend a lot of money on marketing to attract customers, sell their products, and build strong brand recognition and loyalty.
MKT 1210: Marketing Research
This course focuses on using scientific research methods to create marketing strategies and help marketing teams make smart decisions. It covers product, consumer, competitor, and market research, as well as different research techniques. Students will learn about the steps in the research process, how to design surveys, create questionnaires, and analyze secondary data. The course also explores various sampling methods, data collection techniques, and basic statistical analysis.
MKT 1214: Advertising
This course covers the different types of promotions, including advertising, sales promotion, public relations, and personal selling. It looks at the history of advertising, the roles and functions of advertising agencies, and how advertising impacts society. Students will learn about the media planning and buying process, as well as how to create broadcast and print ads. The course also explores different sales promotion techniques, events, sponsorships, the role of public relations, and specialty advertising methods. Finally, it provides an overview of global advertising practices.

MKT 2300: Entrepreneurship or Direct & Interactive Marketing

The course will emphasize methods like direct mail, TV and radio ads, telemarketing, and new online technologies.
BUS 1122: Business Law
This course explores the history and sources of law as they relate to business practices, with a special focus on contracts. Students will study the formation, operation, performance, and termination of contracts. The course also includes an overview of local and federal courts and their roles in the legal process.
BUS 2339: Financial Management
This course gives a detailed look at financial management principles and how they help with decision-making in businesses. Topics include analyzing financial statements and ratios, solving time-value money (TVM) problems, understanding capital budgeting, cost of capital, stocks, bonds, different ways to finance businesses, and dividend policies.
BUS 2341: Financial Forecasting

Students will learn about capital budgeting, financial modeling using MS Excel (including built-in “add-ins”), multinational finance, and risk management. The course also covers investment modeling, portfolio theory, and hedging tools like derivatives and options.
Special attention is given to the challenges faced by business professionals in industries such as fashion, technology, financial services, and professional services. Students will complete individual lab assignments and team projects, using MS Excel or other spreadsheet programs to create financial models. They will also prepare presentations in MS PowerPoint and write reports to communicate their findings.
BUS 2425: Business Management
