Shadiah Zanta, RDH’s Profile
I enjoy being a clinician as well as fulfilling administrative roles in the delivery of health care.
Shadiah Zanta is a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) who successfully achieved her degree with honors in June 2015 from New York City College of Technology’s (City Tech) Dental Hygiene program. In June 2017, Ms. Zanta earned her degree in Health Services Administration with the highest honorary rank, summa cum laude. She was also one of only a few students chosen by the Health and Human Services department to be honored with a certificate for high achievement.
As she continued her education in City Tech, she took on leadership roles across several organizations in the College – some of which included: Student Director and Officer of the Auxiliary Enterprise Board, Student Representative and Voting Member of the College Council, Secretary of the Student Government Association (SGA), Chapter President of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), and the Society Events Chair of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS).
Ms. Zanta’s involvement in several executive positions has shaped her character to grow as an analytical, cautious, and consistent individual. Her passion to give back to City Tech, who has given her more than she believed she could gain from an institution, was (and still is) emanated through her readiness to serve the students and the College as a whole. She made it her duty to continuously: increase student participation in the numerous opportunities City Tech offers, build unity among the vastly diverse City Tech population, and promote City Tech pride. She is eager and ready to continue making a difference everywhere she goes and hopes to not only lead, but to create more leaders.
