Sta­tis­tics and prob­a­bil­ity are sub­jects that a di­verse pop­u­la­tion of stu­dents take. Many find the sub­jects too ab­stract. Through com­puter sim­u­la­tion and ex­plo­ration, the sub­jects be­come more con­crete and ac­ces­si­ble. With per­sis­tence, many stu­dents will de­velop a taste for re­search who with guid­ance and col­lab­o­ra­tion from in­struc­tional staff may de­velop re­sults lead­ing to aca­d­e­mic pa­pers.

Statistics and probability are subjects that a diverse population of students take. Many find the subjects too abstract. Through computer simulation and exploration, the subjects become more concrete and accessible. With persistence, many students will develop a taste for research who with guidance and collaboration from instructional staff may develop results leading to academic papers.
