Certified Mid-Wifery

My Name is Mercy. I was born and raised in Ghana. Two years after migrating into the US, I started college (also working). Though my passion is caring, I hated science so much that, nursing did not even cross my mind. However, my mother who from her childhood had loved to be a nurse convinced me to go into nursing. With a lot of pressure from my mum, I decided to pursue nursing. Honestly it was not an easy program but with determination, I was able to face and over come all the challenges that were thrown at me. I successfully graduated with an Associate Degree, took the state board and immediately got employed as a staff RN in an adult emergency department. My love for nursing has grown tremendously and my goal is to become a Certified Mid Wife and God willingly I will open a nonprofit clinic back home in my country. For me to attain that goal, I need to climb up the ladder, which I did and in two weeks time, with God being on my side, will again successfully graduate with my Bachelors in Nursing and look forward to pursing my Masters.
