Flats – Steam box (Marcelo Fernandez, Brett Whelan & Massiel Gomez)
On Thursday, March 28th and is the first show of the spring semester.
Our main concerns:
-The show is a big comedy, and the door will be slammed all the time.
-The walls should not shake when the door slams.
-Curved Flat
-Curved Moldings
We built a steam box right away to maneuver our moldings and decide to test by 12 hours but the molding was so thick that it was not enough time to bend. In other hand the curved flat did not need a steam box which it was built by a whole sheet of 1×3 plywood.
The tryout of the steam box confirmed that we can improvise but with time ahead to test it out so we can have real solutions. In Real time we need to test to find the best solutions and that way the final product is a master piece.
