For my research question, I have chosen: How does sleep affect your daily routine?
This topic interests me because sleep is a general necessity in our daily life. I want to learn more on all the benefits of sleep and all the disadvantages of sleep deprivation. I already know that, without sleep, you cannot physically nor mentally function properly whether it be using your brain, physically moving your body, or having any motivation to do anything. When you sleep, your body takes a certain number of hours to get itself back on track for the next day. Your body usually needs around 8-10 hours on average. If one depletes the number of hours of rest time, their bodies will not feel fully prepared for the following day. In general, sleep is very important in human nature and if you don’t use it well, there will be massive struggles that you will have to face the following day, all because you decided not to sleep at the appropriate amount. Some points that I plan to explore and find out more about are what happens when you lose a certain number of hours of sleep? How can this affect your concentration in school? What benefits does having a full 8 hours of sleep have rather than having, let’s say, 4 hours? I have so many questions and wonderings about what sleep does to a human and I will find out the answers to them.
