I have completed my genre assignment. My creator’s statement is currently a work in progress. I struggled to edit my video but watching YouTube tutorials helped. I believe I will be able to make the deadline. So far, I feel like I gave my assignment my best, and I am pleased with the results. I am working on my creator’s statement, which I believe I will be able to complete today. I am not really interested in having my writing published, but if it is, maybe on City Tech’s Writer website.

What kind of video are you making? Will you record yourself reciting your poem as a Spoken Word Poem? I think you did view the video of Amanda Gorman reciting her poem at President Biden’s inauguration in January 2021, yes? Is this the poem you used as mentor text?

I do think you need a better title for this poem. This title sounds like an essay — for a poem you need something more clever or wordy or taking one of your lines from the poem and pulling it out to be your title.
