Decriminalizing Medical cannabis in NY

Marijuana as we know it today has change dramatically for the better. The stigma Cannabis faces in America has been dispelled recently do to studies indicating and suggesting its Benefits, whether it might be medically, financially, or industrially. Marijuana is still having a slightly hard time being recognized as beneficial in some parts of the United States, although twenty three states have taken the initiative of either decriminalizing, and or legalizing this natural herb. In May 2014 Governor Cumo of New York, announced a slight legal change in the recreational use of marijuana allowing up to twenty five grams of concealed cannabis to be justified with a summons. Also, the new law allows five medical marijuana licenses to be distributed throughout New York State, business owner, who are eligible to open up to four separate establishments, which has still yet to take vision a year later. Decimalizing medical marijuana in New York is the main argument of this argumentative paper.

Cannabis was discovered by the Chinese Red Emperor Shen Nung (2838 – 2698 B.C.). It is said that he came upon these tall beautiful plants, vibrant in color, and smelled of flower sap (The Story of Cannabis a Short Graphical History 1). He didn’t arrive back to his village empty handed; he arrived with this plant and tried various methods of extracting the sap. He soon discovered if thrown into a fire the fumes enhanced happiness, laughter, excitement, and sexual arousal, some of the same factors scientists today have observed and proven.

Hemp is a derivative of the cannabis plant without the female flowering features. Hemp also has industrial benefits and was probably the earliest plant cultivated for the production of a textile fiber. In the past and currently the Chinese cultivated the plant for the production of clothing and for the seeds, which are used for food and later for hemp oil. In some places in China the stalks are used for fuel in auto mobiles.
