This week I worked with a client on designing a book of poetry. To be specific it was street poetry. All of the poems dealt with the client’s challenges of making a living in an urban neighborhood. The dealt with strong themes such as drug-dealing, gun violence and struggling to provide for your family.
My job was to help him design the inside pages of the book. This mainly consisted of the title page, the copyright page, the table of contents and the pages with the poems on them. It was important to make sure that the pages had a consistent layout. Throughout the pages of the book the phrase “Street Life” can be seen slightly in the background.
