How to submit your homework:
1) First things first… Let us all subscribe to THIS course site, so that I can find your ePortfolios in order to grade your work.
• Go to the Course Profile here.
• Click Join Now!
2) Next… Create a page for COMD 1167 on your ePortfolio site. This is where you will publish subpages of your assignments (or, if you don’t have any other courses on your ePortfolio, then just post your assignments as regular pages). Make sure this is in a obvious and visible place for me to look and grade from!
3) Every Assignment should be a NEW page (titled with name of assignment)
4) Every page should be published by the date/time mentioned per Assignment
5) I highly recommend buying the app TurboScan for your phone, so you can quickly scan drawings into black on white images (without lighting issues and white balance problems found on regular phone photo)

Week 1 Assignments
• Due 9am, September 10th

Assignment #1: Type in your Neighborhood
1) Create a photo album of 20-30 pictures of examples of type in your neighborhood
2) Write a short paper (2-3 paragraphs, 3-4 sentences per paragraph) directly in the ePortfolio page, on what that typography tells you about your neighborhood
Assignment #2: Family Type Worksheet
1) Download this worksheet and print (if you haven’t already done so in class)
2) Create a page for Assignment #2
3) Scan and post one drawing (i.e. one letter) for each of the five families of type
• You should have five pictures posted in total
• Each picture should have a caption indicating which family it belongs to
• Post in chronological order to the evolution of type family
4) Along with each picture, write a short sentence or two detailing how you altered your drawing for each family
