End of Semester Schedule

  • OpenLab Assignment #8 is due Tuesday, 5/16, 8am. Upload this assignment as a pdf to Dropbox:
    • firstinitial lastname date assignment08.pdf
  • Test corrections for exam #3 are due Thursday, 5/18. Instructions are the same as the previous 2 exams, except name the file as:
    • firstinitial lastname date exam3 correction.pdf
  • Our 4th exam will be on Thursday, 5/18. The review sheet can be found here, which is the same review sheet as the final exam. WeBWorK sets are also repoen.
  • Here’s what to do if you miss the final exam on 5/23:
    • If you are currently failing the course (average below 60), and you attended class either 5/18 or 5/22, you will receive a 0 and your course grade will be an F.
    • If you are currently failing the course (average below 60), and you DID NOT attend class either 5/18 or 5/22, you will receive a 0 and your course grade will be an WU.
    • If you are currently passing the course (average above 60), and you attended class either 5/18 or 5/22, you will receive an INC grade and are eligible for a makeup exam.
      • You must have a valid reason for missing the final exam. Examples are: jury duty, death in the family, or illness. Traveling is NOT an excuse.
      • Documentation must be provided. Illness must be reported to John Currie at the Student Accessibility office in L-237. His email is john.currie37@citytech.cuny.edu.

End of Semester Absences

Here are come clarifications to what I mentioned in class about absences.

  • The last day to officially withdraw from the class is Tuesday, May 16. After this date, you will not be able to withdraw and get a “W” grade. Keep in mind that withdrawing may have ramifications on financial aid, among others. Please consult with a college administrator about your individual situation.
  • Failure to attend class after May 16 will result in a grade of WU. This is a very bad result that has ramifications other than simply getting an F. The only way to avoid a WU grade is to attend class on 5/18, 5/22, or 5/23.
  • The final exam is on Tuesday, May 23. Look here for instructions if you are absent.

Exam #3 Corrections Due Monday, May 15, 11:59pm

  • Redo the incorrect problems in full. This means any problem where you got points off, even if the answer is correct and part of the solution is not.
  • Problems must be done correctly. You will receive half the points (rounded up) for a problem that is redone.
  • Redone problems must be done on a separate sheet of paper, numbered, and uploaded as a separate file. Follow rules for using Dropbox and renaming the file.
  • Name the file with lastnamefirstinitialdateexam2correction.pdf
  • Example: kanb1025exam2correction.pdf
  • You do not need to redo a problem that was marked correct. Any problem that has deductions is a problem that is marked incorrect.
  • The problems must be done with a City Tech tutor, ASAP tutor (if you are a part of the program), SEEK tutor (if you are a part of the program), or our class’ peer leader.
  • Look on the OpenLab website for the schedule of tutors. Go to “Help & Resources” and “Tutoring” to find it. You can use tutors from the Atrium Learning Center, Perkins Tutoring (Math department), SEEK (if you are a part of the program), or ASAP (if you are a part of the program).
  • Have the tutor or peer leader verify with me that you attended and got help. This can be:
  • Email me with any questions.
