Hello! my name is Jose Torija Gutierrez, I’m passionate about oral health and love to see healthy smiles. I always wanted to become a healthcare provider; while searching for the right path I came across a Dental Hygiene program that drew my attention. At first, I wasn’t sure if Dental hygiene was the right choice for me since it’s run mostly by females, I thought It would look weird for a male student to join the program, but I was wrong, I wasn’t the only one and soon find out that male hygienists are becoming a huge part of this wonderful career.
Becoming a Dental Hygienist it’s important for me because I would be the first one in my family to pursue a career, and making a change not only within my family but, with every single patient it’s just priceless. The reason I love dental hygiene is because I can make a positive change in my patient’s life and help them put a smile on. I now know that I’m following the right path in becoming a dental hygienist because I feel that I’m making a change every time I step into the clinic, I get to see the results of my work, get to know more people, and get to be a health care provider that I always wanted to be.
