Journal 1 Internship Hunting

I started looking for an internship during the summer before the fall 2021 semester. I had a couple of preferences for what I wanted. I’m OK with remote or in person. The remote routes allow me to think more independently like a freelancer would and less commute since I work from home. The in-person course brings a lot more benefits to real office work experience. I currently live in Florida because of the impact of the pandemic, so I had to leave Nyc. A local office was another preference I wanted. My goal is to work in branding, advertisement, and web design. An agency that provided me with those three things was essential to me. I applied everywhere I saw opportunities from LinkedIn, Google, and other creative hubs. During that time, I also revamp my resume and website to be more professional.

After two months, I’ve gotten two offers from springbot, and an agency in the Jacksonville area called getemtiger agency. I decided to go with get em tiger because they were the type of agency I was looking for since they were working on everything I wanted to do and more. I met the creative director in an interview, and his name is David Gruber.  After talking about what I wanted to gain from the internship, he told me the main thing that attracted his attention was my photography, which surprised me. He explained he needs more fieldwork interns, and I can do some design work too. So I was happy all my searching paid off. He assigned me to a team management program they used for everyone called Asana.
