Brooklyn’s Downtown has evolved significantly since its urban boom in the 19th century. This presentation walks through the urban development of the urban quarter using historic maps and aerial photographs to observe both the changes to the blocks and streets but also the change from a traditional urbanism to a modern vision of the rooted in primacy of the motor car and assuming the natural de-densification of the American city.
