Columbia School of Social Work, New York City w/ Cooper Robertson and Partners
This project required a sensitive approach as the local community was resistant to another Columbia building on the edge of the campus area. The building also required a variance to allow a street wall design approach rather than a base and tower approach as was required by zoning. The building houses the facilities of the School of Social Work, including the school library, classrooms of various sizes, computer labs, faculty offices, and conference/ multi function rooms, as well as few roof terraces for special events.
This project earned the 2007 Learning by Design Honorable Mention
