Recognition in a Food Blog

Being part of the grand opening team meant alot . There were so many things going on at the same time that it was a little hard to concentrate on one thing . One morning a lady came upto one of my co-workers and I and we greeted her with out biggest smiles ever ! we showed her the disney guest service they had taught us .

Three months after the grand opening team my co-worker emails me this link and tells me to take a look into it . I take a look at I see the picture of both of us in this food blog in the internet. Come to be the lady was a food blogger taking pictures of the resort and the food in order to write her blog . I am grateful I am become the person that I am now

Grand Opening Team!

As a leadership experience during the program I believe being part of the Grand Opening team of the Art of Animation Resort was my biggest  strive of leardership.

During the program I couldn’t believe I was part of the grand opening team of the resort. Only hand selected cast members were  put on the Grand Opening team. It was such a great experience and once in a life time. We had a one night free stay for me and 5 of my family  members including the dining plan  at the Nemo section of the family suits . It was such a great experience no words cant explain what I felt during those 3 months being part of the Grand opening team .

Evaluation Sheet!

As a Disney College Program student you have to get an evaluation sheet from your managers before leaving the program. In my case I started off in Animal Kingdom  in Outdoor foods and then I was deployed to be part of the Grand opening team of the new Art of Animation Resort . As for my evaluation sheet for Animal Kingdom I was not able to  get one because my corresponding manager that was in charged of me was  hospitalized when I went to get my evaluation.
As for my second home which was Art of Animation Resort I was able to get my evaluation sheet and I was so proud of my self for the great bondage I had with the managers and the work environment I was in I loved it all. it was such a great experience and I know I am capable of doing things now that I never thought I was going to be able too.

Guest Service Fanatic Cards

Being a cast  member for 8 months sure did make me more of a people person. I learned how to interact with guests from all around the world and learned how to be patient and be a a good co-worker. At the beginning tit was not easy for me at all!  but the Hard work did pay off and showed me and my higher ups how I can change a person’s life with the smallest things on the earth.

I gained 2 service fanatic cards in which are put in your record card in Walt Disney World . It shows good personnel in the company and also makes you feel good as a Cast Member and as a person that you are capable of changing someone life in a matter of an instant! 🙂

Experiential Learning & Human Resource

Experiential Learning completion course Diploma

Being part of the disney collefe program and doing this internship for a full 12 credits . We had to take two collegiate courses with Disney. One of them was Experiential Learning .

In this course we learned the different types of learning methods and how people have their different learning styles. We had in class activities  in which we hand hands- on experience on the different learning styles. Instructor Debbie , gave us a full understanding of all the learning styles and how we use them on daily basis. We did a group project in which we had to pick an organization that used all 9learning styles  to help their employees or children matter of what it was .

This course opened up my eyes on how I learn differently from other people. This course  showed me what type of learner I am and how I can use it on a daily basis.

Human Resource Collegiate Course Disney College Program Spring 2012

As for my second collegiate course I took the Human Resource class. In this class we learned all the different types of laws that protects employees  during  work. We learned the benefits of unions and the different parts of the bill of rights in more detail . We had articles to read every week and see how it fell under the category of  the HR world.   This class gave me knowledge on how much we are protected with our laws and how to fight for our rights. How the human resource plays such a big role  in the work force world.

WELCOME TO MY PAGE!

Hello everyone! ,

My name is Jennifer Medina , 20 years old and currently a college student at New York City College of Technology. My major is Hospitality Management,

A month ago I returned from being an intern at the Disney College Program . I interned at Disney from Jan 25,2012 – August 3,2012 .  I enjoyed the college program alot. I learned , experienced and also had fun at the same time while I was living in Florida for 8 months . I learned how to work with people around the world , with co-workers , managers , chefs & etc. I experienced how to live on my own and how to have a hands on experience with my first job in Walt Disney World.  I also had the opportunity to go around all the parks on my free time and experience what I never experienced when I was a little kid.

I hope you all enjoy my portfolio! 🙂
