Fabric and Apparel Production

In order to “make” silk, it is a lengthy process. The silk worm must spend three to eight days releasing fibroins and sericins to form a cocoon. In production, the cocoon then either gets boiled, steamed or cooled in order to be able to kill the silk worm but keep the threaded cocoon. The silk strands are then twisted together to produce a yarn thread. When there is the appropriate amount of silk threads created, the silk is ready to be used.
