I chose a very powerful and meaningful quote by Martin Luther King Jr.His quote”Darkness cannot drive out darkness;only light can do that.Hate cannot drive out hate ;only love can do that”, really caught my attention because its so simple but so true in a way.It is a quote spoken from the man who stood up to racial inequality by standing up to his oppressors using words that spoke for themselves. In my visual quote i mainly focused on showing the darkness mentioned in the quote,so I made my background dark. Then I liquified a photo I found of Martin Luther King Jr and colored it brown for impact.I was trying to show him emerging from the darkness into light.
For this visual concept I focused on the darkness aspect of the quote then progress into the light. The background is black textured paper that is kind of scratched to represent the darkness and hatred that tears people apart inside their soul.In the quote the light from the flashlight is the quote itself to show that within darkness there is always light. If there is light then there can be love.
This is a photo of Martin Luther King looking to his side as if he is thinknig about something intense. I put one of his quote near his gazing eyes to make it look as if he was looking at his words.I thought this photo was perfect because it looked like he was shinning brightly while being surrounded by darkness. Its as if he was looking forward to a better future where hate and darkness would no longer consume peoples hearts.
