Journal entry 7: The last of Us

For the in development 3D sofware/product I chose is a video game called The Last Of Us which is scheduled to be released on PS3 June 14th. A quick description about the game: Its being made by Naughty Dog(the people behind the Uncharted franchise, Jak and dexter, and more) and you follow the story of a survivor named Joel in a post apocalyptic world and a young girl name Ellie as they work together to find a save place.

If you are already familiar with game and the developers previous work, you would know that they put a lot of work into performance/motion capture to make a better believable characters in the 3D environment. This makes the overall quality of the game stand out and set a good standard of how game design/3D development should work. I like how well the process is executed going from the actors performance then into pre-render stages, lighting, textures and final product.
