journal entry 3: the evolution of the smartphone

When phones first started being called smartphones, someone could check their emails, send texts, and even surf on the web. Now, smartphones can do a lot more than that. Smartphones can do whatever a computer can do, plus more. for example, you can use a smartphone to control your computer, stream media to your tv, pay for stuff at stores, and use it as a remote for your tv or even your car.

There is a company out there called Viper, that sells equipment that one could install in their car and have the ability to use their phone to control your car. Even though the equipment is expensive, having the ability to use your phone as backup remote (or even primary remote) is pretty cool. Viper started this trend, and because of that, car manufacturers have started creating similar apps.
