Lab 2 2/7/13

Objective: To learn a basic understanding of the logic editor on the Blender software. Learn a basic use of the Sensors, controllers and actuators.

Method: We used the Blender version 2.65 edition and experimented with the  logic editor to simply make a cube or whatever our respective  screens had to go invisible at the press of the spacebar. First in the very  bottom left we click it clock looking icon and form the list that appears select the logic editor. Whatever you already have selected will be what has its logic edited. (if you didn’t figure that out then..I don’t know what to tell you).

Under sensor, click add, and for our class use keyboard. Now if we do something with the keyboard whatever we end the result to be will happen.  In the tab where it says key, to the right click it and chose spacebar. Now when we press the spacebar at the end we get what we need.

Under Controller, simply add an “And” controller. Done. Simple? Yes.

Now Under Actuators, add  add– visibility — simply unclick visible.

Now to the right of each of these should be a black spot/dot whatever you want to call it. and play connect the dots, from each one to each one. Now press P, then the space bar and watch your friend the cube, VANISH.

Discussion: During today’s session we under went discussion as tot he background of these ideas of logic, dating back a hundred years or so. Sadly those ideas never caught up until about world war 2 when technology was finally able to catch up to the ideas and there we finally had the starts of computers.
