Journal #3

The culture of my workspace here at the newspaper company is very professional, a little strict but not too much so. There is a time and a place for everything as they say. Over here, the only time you are able to relax and not worry too much is during your lunch break. Lunch breaks vary however because not everyone takes it at the same time. It mostly depends on when you have a little free time. I usually take mine between the hours of 12:30pm to 1:30 pm and not for very long either. I try to eat a quick as possible and continue with whatever it is that Iā€™m working on.

When it comes to the attire of the company, I would say that itā€™s both formal and a bit informal in a way. The law side of the company is definitely formal. Slacks, blouse, blazer, etc. I would describe my dress style as casual, jeans and a top. Mostly black jeans or pants so it doesnā€™t come off as too ā€œstreetā€.

The layout of the office is long and rectangular with like 2 or three sections. There are many There is a conference room with 2 long tables and two desks. I work at one of the desks, but I bring in and use my own laptop. The computers in the office donā€™t have the Adobe apps I use for my projects.
